Memory

Memory

Notebooks of short notes that people and their AI agents search and add to.

Memory is your company's shared knowledge for AI work: how a client's reporting calendar works, which field in an API is wrong, what was decided in last week's pricing round. People and their agents keep it as short notes, one fact or decision each, in notebooks. Agents search it before they answer and add what they learn, through the same Parcel connector that brings them skills.

  • Everyone reads the notebooks they have access to, keeps personal notebooks, and adds memories in the hub or through their agents.
  • Curators (people with Review on a notebook) keep it true: they confirm agents' drafts, mark memories outdated and settle warnings.
  • Notebook managers set who adds memories, how agents' saves are handled, review dates, retention and access.
  • Admins create notebooks outside folders, see every shared notebook under Admin, Memory, and switch the features.

Memory holds notes, not documents or secrets. A memory that grows into a procedure belongs in a skill, and Parcel turns memories into a skill draft in one step.

What admins can switch off

Under Admin, Features, the Memory module lists these features.

FeatureDefaultOff means
NotebooksOnNotebooks leave the hub, agents get no memory tools, and notebooks leave the access pages. Memories stay stored and return when it is on again. Retention keeps removing archived content on schedule
Meaning searchOnEvery search matches words only, in the hub and for agents
Import memoryOnThe Import button leaves personal notebooks
Memory digest in the CLIOnparcel sync --memory writes no digest and removes the one it wrote. Needs Notebooks and CLI sync
Copies in Claude memory storesOffAdmins cannot connect a notebook to a memory store. Copies that already sit in a store can still be removed

Meaning search, Import memory, Memory digest in the CLI and Copies in Claude memory stores all need Notebooks, and are off whenever it is.
